We were formed in 2004, and we are a family owned business based in Bournemouth. We try to do things the way they should be - as simple as possible. What we offer is clear, direct and impartial advice.

Name: Anne Thorne Job title: Protection Adviser/ Administrator Employment history/ background: Anne started her career in financial services with Abbey Life. She moved on to Teachers Assurance and then Liverpool Victoria, before progressing her career with a local IFA. She joined Abacus in 2006 as an administrator, and rapidly took on the role of Protection Adviser. She is fully qualified with FPC and CeMAP. Interests: Keep fit and beauty therapy
Name: Iain Dalgleish Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Iain's career in financial services began in 1992, as a consultant for Prudential. Since then he has worked for the Yorkshire Building Society, Halifax and also Bradford & Bingley, where he was both a Branch Manager and then an Independent Financial Adviser, specialising in mortgages and protection. He if fully qualified with FPC and CeMAP. Interests: His family
Name: Jan Duffy Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Jan has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years. The bulk of these years were spent at the Prudential where she was a financial adviser and sales manager, however she also enjoyed time with Teachers Assurance and Pearl Assurance. She is a Director of Abacus, and is fully FPC and CeMAP qualified. Interests: Theatre, walking, music and swimming
Name: Matthew Fleming-Duffy Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Matthew started his career at Abbey National, where he spent 7 years at their Bournemouth office. After spell with a local mortgage broker and Connells Mortgages Services, he set up Abacus in 2004. He is full CeMAP qualified and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Managers. Interests: Golf, sailing and his family!
Name: Paul Trudgeon Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Paul has nearly 30 years experience in the Financial Service Industry many of them spent in Senior Management positions. Married with 3 Daughters. Fully CEMAP qualified. Also specialises in Spanish Mortgages. Interests: Football (supporting Manchester City) Golf & Travel
Name: Sara Trudgeon Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Sara is fully CEMAP qualified and has worked within the financial services sector for more than 20 years. She spent 15 years with a large mutual building society, 10 of which were in a managerial capacity followed by broker experience in the Wimborne and Bournemouth areas before joining Abacus in 2007 Interests: Travel, Interior Design, Walking and Animal Welfare
Name: Steve Mitchell Job title: Mortgage Broker Employment history/ background: Steve started his career for a clearing house within Barclays Bank, before moving to Bennetts Insurance as an advisor. His career focus changed to mortgages when he joined Rapide Mortgage Services in 2001. He then worked for Regency Mortgage Corporation before joining Abacus in 2007. He is full CeMAP qualified and part qualified FPC. Interests: Keeping fit, hiking, travelling, go-karting and any other extreme sports.
